iPad/iPhone app version updates
Journal style contest winners updateThe wait for the winning journal theme styles from our last contest is almost over. The Spring Daze theme (pictured below on the far right) is currently available on the journal style selection page. The other two themes will be available in our next release.
Halloween header design contestThe next header design contest theme is Halloween. The winning header will appear on LiveJournal throughout the second half of October. We'll be accepting submissions for the Halloween header design contest from Monday, August 22nd, through Monday, September 19th over at remixed. Five finalists will be selected by LiveJournal staff members for your review. The winning submission and the finalists will receive 2500 and 1000 tokens respectively. We look forward to seeing your original works! Good luck, artists!

The RTE is virtually unusable, and I know you're aware of that. The HTML editor is also affected, and some people can't edit posts, or can't post at all. This is really not something you should be highlighting as updates to the editor, even if you do thank us for our 'patience'.
In addition to all the usability issues, the buttons on the new editor are too small. Even with corrected vision, I have difficulty making them out and can only see their function by hovering over them. Also, you have removed buttons that people find important: the 'break link' button and the table button, in particular. You have also added a button that few people seem to have any time for - the facebook/twitter useless like button. From what I've seen, users want a Like button for LJ, not for outside sites we don't care about.
We can no longer resize images in RTE, the 'cut wizard' is broken, other functions do not work as expected, and the list of faults is as long as my arm. It would have been better to make this post an apology and an indication of how soon people will actually be able to use LJ to post to their journals again - that might have won you a few friends here.
